PINTO FEATURED SPEAKER AT 2001 WEDI NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Indianapolis, IN, (April 17, 2001) -Rodger Pinto, Ph.D.,
chief executive officer of Gateway Electronic Medical Management
Systems (GEMMS), an Indianapolis, Ind.-based provider of information
systems products for cardiology practices, will address the members
and attendees of the Workgroup For Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI)
National Conference, on April 19, 2001.
The
WEDI Conference is a national seminar dedicated to helping health
care organizations deal with the rigors of understanding information
technology and how this technology will impact their organizations.
From HIPPA to e-Commerce technology, the conference features discussion
and presentations that focus on the challenges and opportunities
created by this technology.
Dr.
Pinto will focus his discussion on the emerging use of wireless
and handheld computing devices in the medical industry. "Physicians
need wireless technology in the office because of their need for
mobility. Technology, workflow reengineering and the patient care
improvements from physician real-time decision support and communication
are key success factors," says Pinto. "As a leader in
specialty-specific wireless technology solutions, GEMMS understands
the unique information needs and challenges facing physicians and
I will provide an in-depth overview of this technology and how these
devices will change the way critical information is captured and
exchanged at the point of care."
