ELECTRONIC MEDICAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS INSTALLS ECIS IN THE
CARDIOVASCULAR GROUPS
-
Indianapolis,
Indiana (January 15, 2001) – GEMMS today announced it signed
an agreement with The Cardiovascular Group to install its
electronic clinical information system in the practice.
The GEMMS ECIS system is a cardiology specific system
that integrates a practice’s clinical, fiscal and management
information into one system. Today’s announcement marks the 23rd practice to join the GEMMS national network since
its national sales efforts began in 1999.
-
The Cardiovascular
Group of Vienna, which has 21 physicians and 6 clinic locations,
saw the need to implement a fully integrated system that would not
only create operational efficiencies, but also provide their physicians
with a tool that can help them in offering the highest possible
care to their patients.
-
“We believe ECIS offers a significant
advantage over our current information system.
In particular, we chose GEMMS for this project because
it is a truly integrated system,,” says Lauri Rustand, Practice
Administrator, of Te Cardiovascular Group. “With ECIS, the documentation
and billing are integrated at the point of service, creating
a seamless record, thus reducing first pass denials.”
-
“Traditional,
practice management systems constrain a practice’s ability to optimally
access, organize and analyze complete and comprehensive patient
information,” said Rodger Pinto, PhD., and CEO of Gateway Electronic
Medical Management Systems. “Because ECIS was develop by clinicians
who understand the unique needs associated with medicine, ECIS offers
cardiologists the potential to improve information access and the
overall quality of care which is delivered.”
-
ECIS
creates and maintains complete medical records, streamlines
workflow and manages critical data related to patient care
outcomes. It automatically
creates documents and letters, generates prescriptions, stores
cardiac images, and exchanges data with hospitals and labs.
