INTRODUCES MyRecord, A PORTABLE PATIENT HEALTH RECORD
INDIANAPOLIS
(March 7, 2003) Gateway Electronic Medical Management Systems
(GEMMS), developer of the nations first fully integrated,
cardiology-specific electronic clinical information system (ECIS),
today announced the availability of MyRecord, a portable patient
medical record .
MyRecord is a comprehensive health record patients carry with them
everywhere they go. The health record contains not only written
descriptions of doctor visits, but also diagnostic images of all
sorts, including EKGs, to a CD the size of a credit card.
With MyRecord, physicians attending to patients in any situation
have instant access to critical medical information.
For
the first time, patients will have the ability to have their current
medical record provide to them in minutes, with total portability,
says Rodger P. Pinto, Ph.D., chief executive officer of
GEMMS, In addition, it will provide them patient-specific
education materials. MyRecord will allow patients to have their
diagnosis described in terms they can understand along with, their
medication list, progress notes, history and physical information,
diagnostic reports and testing results and education materials
all on a business card sized CD that can be loaded into either
a PC or Macintosh computer. Patient education and clinical information
can easily be viewed or printed with any computer.
Patients
can rest assured that should they find themselves in a medical
crisis where they can not talk and attending physicians are unable
to reach their physician for information immediately, MyRecord
will be there to speak for them.
