GATEWAY ELECTRONIC MEDICAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS INSTALLS ECIS
AT MINNESOTA HEART
Indianapolis,
Indiana (January 05, 2001) GEMMS today announced it
signed an agreement with Minnesota Heart to install its electronic
clinical information system in the practice. The GEMMS ECIS system
is a cardiology specific system that integrates a practices
clinical, fiscal and management information into one system. Todays
announcement marks the 24th practice to join the GEMMS national
network since its national sales efforts began in 1999.
Minnesota Heart of Edina, which has 23 physicians and sees over
54,000 patients a year, needed a fully integrated system that
would work with both the administrative and clinical sides of
its practice.
We
chose to implement the GEMMS ECIS system because we needed a proven
clinical practice management system that combined all of our practice
information into one system, says Don Pilarski, Practice
Administrator for Minnesota Heart. ECIS will allow us to
improve the overall quality of care provided to our patients because
of its ability to make critical patient information readily available
as well as offering our physicians decision support.
ECIS is one of the few technologies that has an impact on
both the clinical and administrative aspects of a practice,
said Rodger Pinto, PhD., and CEO of Gateway Electronic Medical
Management Systems. This statement is based on its ability
to lower costs, increase revenue, improve practice efficiency
and operations and enhance the quality of services provided.
ECIS fully integrates a practices clinical, fiscal and management
information into one system. The system is proven to save time
and money and facilitate faster decision-making and ECIS provides
clinicians with greater access to information, enhancing their
ability to deliver patient health care services.
