ENTERS STRATEGIC ALLIANCE WITH LEVEL 8 SYSTEMS
INDIANAPOLIS
(February 20, 2003) Gateway Electronic Medical Management
Systems (GEMMS), developer of the nations first fully integrated,
cardiology-specific electronic clinical information system (ECIS),
announced a strategic alliance with software developer Level 8 Systems
to create the health care industrys first scalable, cardiology-specific
clinical information system for office, clinic, hospital and laboratory
environments.
The technology alliance combines Level 8s application integration
program, CICERO, with the GEMMS ECIS system. Through the CICERO
environment, GEMMS customers will be able to automatically integrate
and exchange data with existing practice management applications,
as well as communicate with practice management systems, outreach
clinics, hospitals, labs, service providers and payors. The integration
of the CICERO customer relationship management software with GEMMS'
ECIS system allows practices to meet data management and reporting
goals by linking financial and clinical information through a single
system approach.
Rodger P. Pinto, Ph.D., GEMMS chief executive officer, and Tony
Pizi, chairman and chief technology officer of Level 8, said in
a joint statement that: "The GEMMS/Level 8 partnership will
help cardiologists reduce operational costs, simplify their business
and clinical processes, and embrace new technologies quicker. ECIS/CICERO
will enable cardiology practices nationwide to more efficiently
manage their business and medical practices in an environment marked
by growing regulation."
